Behind the Scenes of Shoe GOO Skate Video in 3D

Almost every skater at some point has made a skate video. Skaters have been making and sharing homemade skate videos since the 1970s, long before the days of the Internet. Flash-forward 40 years and now we create videos on our phone and are able to immediately share them on YouTube, Facebook or Twitter for our friends and the world to see.

We set out to make a skate video to highlight our hometown-proud, long-time friend of Shoe GOO and éS Skateboarding team member Josh Matthews going back to his roots at the Willamalane Skate Park in Springfield, Oregon.

Here are some photos behind the video and a sneak peak of what to expect in 3D.

The Shoe GOO skate team collaborated with AO Creative Films, a Northwest-based video production company, to film, direct and produce the skate video. It was the vision of Ryan Welch and Jay Jones of AO Creative, who saw how to distinguish this skate video from the rest – film in 3D!

On Monday, July 24, 2011, Josh Matthews, his buddies and more than 30 local skaters joined us at the skate park to film the first Shoe Goo Skate video in 3D. The video crew showed up with 3D cameras, numerous camera mounts and a zip line to shoot some spectacular footage.

Some local skaters were there to throw down, including Jordan Brandt, Shoe GOO skate summer intern, who has also helped Shoe GOO this summer with his photography skills and connections in the skate community.

Here are more photos from our day at the skate park.

The Shoe GOO skate team would like to thank Josh Matthews, AO Creative Films and all the local skaters who came out to the park and helped make this video a success!

The first Shoe Goo Skate video in 3D is coming soon. Stay tuned!
